Holy crap that speed is impressive as well as the accuracy! CFE black is one of the top speed powders for the x39. I have some accurate 2200 I am going to try in the future that according to the manuals is fast as well.

IMHO Early Ruger M77s were right up there in quality and function as a Winchester Model.70. I know that'll ruffle some feathers, but just take a real look at one next time you can. The bluing is beautiful, action sweet and sure, beautifully fitted, dead nuts accurate.

nice. how much did the suppressor change your poi? or did it at all? and do you keep a card or something with the unsuppressed bullet data on it incase you want to shoot without the suppressor attached. how did you get your "suppressed" bullet info? computer or shooting each yardage with it? i know thats a lot im just trying to figure out what most people do with their hunting rifle as far keeping up with data on different set ups. suppressed supers vs non suppressed supers and whatnot. say you had a monster walk out at 300 would you take that shot suppressed or take it off? and if you did take it off, would you adjust the dial or just know where to hold that range in your head?

The point of impact definitely changed. I think I did a comparison one time and there was about a 9 inch difference if I remember correctly, but that may have been with one of my other rifles, I can't remember for sure. I have a range out to 300 yards, so I go test at each distance and then I figure out the drop at each distance. If I am using a BDC reticle, I check to see if the 200 and 300 yard circles or hash marks are close enough to use. If they are, we will likely use them, but if it's not a BDC reticle, then I figured out how much drop there is at each distance and I will adjust the scope before the shot, if I have time to do so. Also yes, if I'm hunting with the suppressor, I will take the shot with it on at whatever distance it is. Where we hunt, we can usually get within 300 yards for the shot. I don't think we've ever really had to take anything much further than that.

@TheHooliganOutdoors oh ok good to know. so do you just keep the ranges in your head or a card? i guess theres not too much to remember if im gona stay under 300 yards i just hate being "close enough", i want to know know exactly where the bullet is going to hit at all ranges. do you do 3/4 round groups every 25 or 50 yards out to 300 to get your data? i feel like my brain is melting trying to figure out what round to shoot at what range to zero. ehh ill figure it out eventually. i appreciate you getting back with me.

@@dirtlegchaser2424 I sight in at 100 and then I shoot at 200 and 300. I will usually text myself what rifle and ammo I'm using and what the drop is. I also use an app called strelok and enter all the info and make sure the 200 and 300 yard drop is the same in the app as what I'm getting at the range. Then in the app you can get the drop for whatever distance you need. I will usually set it out to 500 yards with the drop showing increments for every 25 yards. Hope that all makes sense.

I got the Big Kahuna 30" .50 bmg upper. I put the limb saver on before I ever shot it. I have put close to 100 rounds through mine, maybe a little more than that. I bought 1 box of the Hornady ammo but at almost $100 for 10 rounds, I won't be buying any more of it. The PMC ammo is half the price of the Hornady.

Have the Gen2 in 5.56 and love it. Will be buying the 7.62x39 next week. The shop I deal with has both the Ruger Ranch 7.62 Soviet in the Gen2 and original (Gen1?). The Gen1 was priced at $519 and the Gen2 at $559 which made the Gen2 an easy choice, but the Gen1 has been cut to $449, so I am not %100 sure which I am buying now. It will probably the Gen2. My question to everybody to owns this rifle, is what is the best grouping ammo you have found for shooting paper at 100yds? Normally when buying a new rifle, I will just buy a box of each ammo they have and try them all. It would be nice if you guys could save me some ammo money and narrow it down to 3 or 4 bullet types, weights, and brands for me. Thanks. After finding the best factory ammo, I reload and create "clones" of that ammo.

I've had the gen 1 for a few years now. It changed my opinions on the 7.62x39. I put a Boyd's laminate thumbhole stock on it. I just ordered the Gen 2 in 5.56. This gen 2 looks much nicer. I hope I don't need to upgrade the stock like gen 1.
